Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. Extends Contract with Thomas Bayer for 2008

April 15, 2008 – CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA -- Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. aannounces it has extended its contract with Thomas Bayer of Thomas Bayer Racing for 2008. Bayer competes in various NHRA® classes including Top Alcohol Dragster, Super Comp and the Super Gas categories and has been a long time member of Team Toyo™.

Bayer has competed on Toyo® Proxes® Drag Slicks for many years, winning several championships for Toyo along the way. He won the Super Comp Association of Southern California Championship in 2004, the SCEDA Championship in 2005 and both the Super Gas and Super Comp Championships for 2006 in NHRA Division 7. In all, Bayer has won more than 40 events during the past five years on Toyo Proxes Drag Slicks.

In addition to the cars piloted by Thomas Bayer, the Thomas Bayer Racing stable includes Super Comp cars piloted by drivers such as Todd Henry, recent winner of the "Perfectly Strange Engineering Performance Award" at the NHRA Winternationals for making a perfect 8.900-second pass.

The team's rookie driver, Kyle Russum, piloted his Thomas Bayer Racing Undercover dragster, equipped with Toyo Proxes Drag Slicks, to his first-ever Super Pro class victory recently at the Jerry's Nugget Championship Series event at Las Vegas Speedway. The win vaulted Russum into the Super Pro points lead for that series.
